A Case for Integrated Project Delivery. The presentation covered a wide range of critical issues that have to be considered while designing Medical Cities such as :
• Matching equipment planning with the design phases
• Acknowledging the technology obsolescence rate and its impact on the bottom line
• Overcoming the Design and Build false promise
• Evaluating IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) and other shared responsibility business models
The event is one of the major events focusing on Medical Cities and saw an attendance of industry professionals from Asia and Africa.
DAR Engineering conducts a workshop on 3D designing for the Ministry of Electricity and Public Electricity Corporation, Yemen
As an authority in the arena of Power generation, Transmission and Distribution and Power System Studies, DAR Engineering presented the latest developments in power system studies and its relevance to implement in the electricity projects in Yemen. In the presentation, DAR Engineering also introduced Building information modeling (BIM-3D) specifically for substations, where, the main objectives for implementation of 3D design are to improve the quality of deliverables, as well as, to improve design efficiency. Further, 3D model is used as a base to develop 4D and 5D model that includes construction time schedule and cost estimation.
The technical presentation was well received by the participants and the Corporation has considered utilizing DAR’s high end services and expertise for their future projects. The event was arranged along with our local partner M/s HS Group.

Jun 2012: DAR supports the Iraq Utilities event aimed at providing crucial services in the power sector to the Iraqi utilities. The power related solutions of DAR Engineering, specifically in the T&D and Generation side, attracted most of the delegates to its stand.
National Grid Policy & Procedure Workshop
The work shop covered Dar Engineering and MHI's Experience and capabilities to review existing and develop new Grid Policies and Procedures covering Planning, Engineering, High Voltage Projects, Grid Maintenance, Technical Services, Operations & Controls, Administration for SEC National Grid. Other topics covered in work shop include Corporate Reliability Standards, Transmission Tariff and Preparing for Market Operation.
The workshop was well received by delegates and was fully interactive with 100% participation from SEC eminent top management members with questions and answers.

Apr 2012: DAR is undertaking complete system studies covering Load flow studies, Short circuit calculations, Transient stability studies, Transition to island mode (1000 MW load rejection), load rejection at Ma’aden (in “Island” mode), harmonic studies, etc for Raz Al Kheir desalination power plant connected to Maadan industries and SEC 380kV network. These studies are conducted in PSS/E, PS Cad and ETAP software.

March 2011: DAR Engineering was one among the other well known international speakers to provide industry expertise at the highly technical presentation in the Substation Automation & Smart Grid Forum 2011 at Jeddah from 4th June. The presentation titled "Primary Equipment in Substations" focused on “CONTROLLING TRANSIENT RECOVERY VOLTAGE IN EHV CIRCUIT BREAKER BY APPLYING POINT-ON-WAVE CONTROL, POWER TRANSFORMER BUSHING FAILURES DUE TO VERY FAST TRANSIENT. Moreover the presentation also included recommendations for On-Line Condition Monitoring, Optical Current Transformer Advantages and Power System Stability Improvements Using Facts (Flexible AC Transmission System).

DAR strengthens its Consultancy Services portfolio by signing several new projects!
Apr’2010: DAR has further cemented its leadership in the Consultancy Services area by signing several prestigious projects of multi million riyal value:
- One among the projects include Consultancy Services for Witnessing of Pre Commissioning Tests and Commissioning for Transmission Projects in DTA for the SEC-WOA for a duration of 3 years. DAR has already mobilized close to 35 engineers at the moment.
- DAR also was awarded Consultancy Services for Defining Out-of-Step Relay Settings on 380kV Connections in WOA, COA, and SOA Transmission Systems for the SEC.
The project scope includes OOS relay settings for new 380kV intertie connections in the SEC grid between the WOA, COA, and SOA employing optimal separation strategies
