DAR Engineering supported the Saudi Health exhibition that was held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center from the 16th to 18th May as an exhibitor.

Saudi Health is considered to be one of the largest healthcare event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which saw a participation from more than 38 countries consisting of 350 exhibitors. As the Kingdom’s leading design and Engineering service provider, DAR Engineering attracted a host of existing and potential clients. Generally, the event concluded on a successful note.

DAR Engineering has been awarded the construction management for 3 transmission and distribution projects in the Yanbu Industrial City. The project scope includes the construction management and inspection services for the construction of various 115kV Substations and underground transmission lines projects. DAR Engineering will also review all proposed designs, specifications, general substation and transmission lines engineering work, and procedures for use on these projects as well as assist the company in the smooth execution of the projects.

DAR Engineering continued its support to the Ministry of Health by sponsoring the MoH organized 3^rd Saudi Healthcare Architects Forum at the Riyadh Exhibition Center which took place on the 18^th March to 20^th March. The 3 day event gathered more than 150 exhibitor showcasing their various products and services for the healthcare sector.

The event patronized by the Ministry of Health and GCC Higher Committee for Electronic Health was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel from the 16th to 18th March. Medical Equipment Planning and Building Information Modelling solutions of DAR Engineering attracted a host of clients at the company’s stand at the Arab Health 2015 exhibition. Following a successful contracts , DAR Engineering has been appointed by National Guard Health Affairs ( NGHA ), Saudi Arabia to provide Design Services for Seven Specialist Hospitals in the Different Medical Cities related to NGHA at Riyadh , Jeddah , Dammam and Al-Hasa.

With an impressive line of speakers from the region and beyond, DAR Engineering's made a presentation on Management of Equipment and Technology Planning for Medical Cities. A Case for Integrated Project Delivery. The presentation covered a wide range of critical issues that have to be considered while designing Medical Cities such as :

•  Acknowledging the technology obsolescence rate and its impact on the bottom line
•  Overcoming the Design and Build false promise
•  Evaluating IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) and other shared responsibility business models

The event is one of the major events focusing on Medical Cities and saw an attendance of industry professionals from Asia and Africa.

DAR Engineering, in its pursuit to provide quality and high end services globally and especially in Middle East region, conducted a technical workshop in Sanaa, Yemen for the Ministry of Electricity and Public Electricity Corporation. The presentation was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Moh'd Al Khadel, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Power and graced by the attendance of Chief Engineers, General Managers and directors of various departments from the Corporation and its affiliates.

As an authority in the arena of Power generation, Transmission and Distribution and Power System Studies, DAR Engineering presented the latest developments in power system studies and its relevance to implement in the electricity projects in Yemen. In the presentation, DAR Engineering also introduced Building information modeling (BIM-3D) specifically for substations, where, the main objectives for implementation of 3D design are to improve the quality of deliverables, as well as, to improve design efficiency. Further, 3D model is used as a base to develop 4D and 5D model that includes construction time schedule and cost estimation.

DAR introduced its latest technologically advanced design and engineering solutions for Substation Designing and Engineering at the WETEX Exhibition from April 14-16 in Dubai International Exhibition and Convention center. As one of the largest specialized events for Water and Electricity in the region, the event attracted more than 18000 professionals from across the region.

Being one of the first few design and engineering companies in the region to adopt the 3D modelling specifically for substations, the main objectives for implementation of 3D design are improvement in quality of the deliverables as well as improvement in design efficiency. Further 3D model is used as base to develop 5D model that includes construction time schedule and cost estimation.

Attracting a host of visitors at the stand, DAR continues to expand its footprint throughout the MENA region. The 5 day event starting from 31 March saw participation from the healthcare professionals in the Algerian ministries and private developers.

Following a successful year, DAR Engineering has been appointed by the Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia to provide Medical and Non-Medical Equipment planning and procurement for 2 medical cities; the 1350 bed King Faisal Medical City in Abha and the 1000-bed Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Medical City in Al Jouf .

As an authority in the arena of industrial power system studies, DAR Engineering conducted workshops for various clients from the eastern region of the Kingdom on the 8th and 9th December. Titled – “INDUSTRY REQUIREMENT-POWER SYSTEM SIMULATION STUDIES AND POWER QUALITY STUDIES TO ENHANCE POWER SYSTEM RELIABILITY AND POWER QUALITY “, the event saw a large participation from clients in different industrial fields. The workshop, conducted alongwith its international engineering partner, received positive reviews from the attendees.

Various technical experts with SEC, SABIC, Saudi Aramco, National Grid, etc., attended the workshops. Topics such as Saudi Grid Code requirement for IPP , industries and PV solar plant interconnection to Grid, Power System Studies Best Practices & International Experiences, Power Quality & Ferro-Resonance Issues, among others experienced healthy interactions from the attendees.

With the success of the workshops and the positive feedbacks received from the attendees, DAR Engineering has planned to conduct such workshops on a regular basis and in different regions of the Kingdom.

At an event presided by His Highness Prince Fahd Bin Badr Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, DAR-Engineering, as the technical designer for the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Medical City, was invited for a presentation regarding its scope at a conference organized by the client.

The presentation included an introduction for the activities of DAR Engineering as Engineering Services, Supervision and project management consultant firm in several sectors in the market.

In line with DAR Engineering's strategic vision to be the regional market leader for design and engineering services, DAR successfully marketed its presence with two strategic events, Hospital Build & Infrastructure Turkey and Energy Iraq.

DAR Engineering was appointed by the General Directorate of Water - Riyadh - to undertake a conceptual & Engineering consultancy services for preparation of designs of the standards models for a number of (3) building models of the water branches and (3) warehouses models in Riyadh provinces. Jun 2012: DAR supports the Iraq Utilities event aimed at providing crucial services in the power sector to the Iraqi utilities. The power related solutions of DAR Engineering, specifically in the T&D and Generation side, attracted most of the delegates to its stand.

May 2012: DAR Engineering along with MHI, Canada, conducted a workshop on 'Grid Policy and Procedure' for SEC on 15th May'2012 at Holiday Inn in Riyadh. Apr 2012: Design work has commenced following our appointment, of the new Veterinary Hospital at King Faisal University.

Apr 2012: DAR is undertaking complete system studies covering Load flow studies, Short circuit calculations, Transient stability studies, Transition to island mode (1000 MW load rejection), load rejection at Ma’aden (in “Island” mode), harmonic studies, etc for Raz Al Kheir desalination power plant connected to Maadan industries and SEC 380kV network. These studies are conducted in PSS/E, PS Cad and ETAP software.

Apr 2012: DAR is undertaking complete system studies for Saudi Aramco network with more than 3000 buses at Abqaiq area for transient stability studies, dynamic and static motor starting studies, Harmonics studies, Arc flash analysis, load shedding and insulation coordination studies.

Saudi Railway Organization (SRO) requires power for electrification works of Harmain High Speed Railway(HHR) from SEC and for that purpose six(06) new 380 kV Substations shall be constructed along the proposed route.

Jan 2012: DAR is providing Engineering & Design services for New Makkah North 380/110/13.8 kV BSP. This project aims at the 380 kV Integration of Phase-II of Rabigh-II P/P to meet the rapidly growing demand and to improve the reliability and security of Power Supply in the MAKKAH area.

Jan 2012: DAR has been awarded the Engineering and Design Services for 380 kV Shoaibah-3 Substation. This project aims at the implementation of 380kV transmission facilities required for the effective evacuation of power from new generating station to be installed at Shoaibah.

Jan 2012: DAR is providing Engineering & Design services for Qurayyah IPP 380/230/11513.8 kV BSP. This transmission substation is an evacuation substation for the power generated by world largest gas based IPP at Qurayyah in Eastern region of KSA.

Jan 2012: The first of its kind event in the region, the Middle East Rail 2012 event witnessed the key leaders from the rail sector.

DAR Engineering had a very highly successful presence at the Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Middle East 2011 which was held from 17 December in Jeddah. IEEE PES Western Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST) and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) organized the First IEEE-PES Conference in Middle East on Innovative Smart Grid Technologies.

DAR Engineering had a very strong presence in this year’s GCC Power event to be held in Kuwait. The exhibit was visited by several Government and utility company representatives. The 7th GCC CIGRE International Conference, GCC Power 2011 Conference & Exhibition, was held in Kuwait from 21 to 23 November 2011.

A presentation on 'Advanced Architecture for Cancer Treatment' was made to the conference delegates.

The depleting deposits of fossil fuels and the harmful effect of carbon dioxide output on the climate is forcing nations, especially industrialized countries to reduce power generation from fossil fuels. All electricity boards across the globe are harnessing other methods of producing power energy to meet ever increasing demand and at the same time reduce dependency/ conserve available fossil sources.

March 2011: DAR Engineering was one among the other well known international speakers to provide industry expertise at the highly technical presentation in the Substation Automation & Smart Grid Forum 2011 at Jeddah from 4th June. The presentation titled "Primary Equipment in Substations" focused on “CONTROLLING TRANSIENT RECOVERY VOLTAGE IN EHV CIRCUIT BREAKER BY APPLYING POINT-ON-WAVE CONTROL, POWER TRANSFORMER BUSHING FAILURES DUE TO VERY FAST TRANSIENT.    The project scope includes OOS relay settings for new 380kV intertie connections in the SEC grid between the WOA, COA, and SOA employing optimal separation strategies
